The second interview I conducted was that of a local high school basketball coach. The coach as per the ideas shared by him, led to an interesting cross -exchange of ideas. These ideas helped me shape my own coaching philosophy as well. Question 1 – How should you handle a player who is going through tough times personally and its affect is translating on to the professional avenue? Answer: For such players, I believe that it is important to know the extent of their problem. Through a deep conversation with the player, it is important to know exactly where the problem lies. However, we should ensure that we are not in any way eliciting reluctant information from the person. We should maintain boundaries while trying to help them.
